There is superb complexity and fantastic length and this mineral-driven effort should be capable of drinking well after only 12 years or so of bottle age but require a solid 20 before it’s completely mature

Like the Malconsorts this intensely mineral-driven effort is somewhat less structured than usual though it certainly doesn’t lack for power and punch

(two-thirds of the vines were planted in 1912 and the remainder in 1973)

Bellevue Mondotte Vintage:2013 blueberriesRuby red. Roasted plum, toffee, game and nutty oak on the nose. Lush, fat and stuffed with fruit. A wonderfully pliant 2002 with noteworthy density and richness. Sound acids and suave but firm edged tannins give this excellent balance. Finishes very long and ripe. This is even stronger than it appeared to be from barrel last spring. Stephen Tanzer
