型染で正倉院文様を連ねた小紋から。

撫子は8月～9月に咲く夏の花で、夏の着物に柄として取り入れられることが多い植物です。

御召とは「御召縮緬」のことで、江戸時代に第11代将軍・徳川家斉が好んで着用したとしてこの名がつきました。織りの中では最高級の生地であるとされています。
