Ancient Cross #13 "ICTHYS" CRS0006 Roman Denarius (87 BC) andThe original pendant seen below is a lead alloy cross, likely made sometime between the 6th and 7th century A. D. On the obverse, it features a debossed 'palm branch' pattern running the length of each cross beam. On the reverse, it features an embossed image of a fish. The symbol of a fish was used regularly in the first and second century churches as a method of covert communication among believers. At the time, Christians were under heavy
