CHURCHILL MKIII The Churchill Mk III TankThe Churchill Mk III Tank was a product of the British Army's approach to dividing the role of tanks in to 3 categories: the Light Tank, intended mainly for a recon role, the Cruiser, intended to be a light and fast to exploit gaps in the enemy's defence, and the Infantry tank, intended to support the infantry during attacks. The Churchill Mk III fell very much into the latter category with its heavy armour, slow speed and excellent slope climbing
