The GC4 allows you to control the cooling side of fermentation of up to four fermenters. When fermentation occurs, it produces heat. But when fermentations get too hot, it can cause the yeast to produce undesirable off flavours. Therefore, brewers apply cooling to the fermenter so that the yeast has a comfortable and repeatable environment in which to work.
