It has been hand colored in watercolor and framed in a much later frame and nicely matted

The painting is signed to the far right edge at the 3 o'clock position

I'll be sure they're cleaned out and lovely

making it all the more interesting

There are also hints of vermeil on the exterior silver so it is possible that the entire piece was in vermeil or just accented with it

This one is a painting on wafer only 1 5 8" x 1 3 8" oval. It might well be the only image ever made of this charming woman, so stylish in her time. Unusual to have the sealed backside fully intact as in this one, and the framer's still attached in full. We do not have her Identity, but putting her in her era based on fashion and hair is simple, as she is c. 1750 70s Louis XV
